Buena Vista Enhanced Option School Discipline Policy

Buena Vista Enhanced Option School is adopting a new discipline policy for the 2004-2005 school year. The rules will be posted throughout the school for all students to see. The rules are as follows:

I will:

  1. Walk and talk quietly in the building. 
  2. Keep my hands, feet and objects to myself. 
  3. Use words that make other people feel good. 
  4. Take care of the property of Buena Vista Enhanced Option School and the property of others. 
  5. Follow directions and requests from all Buena Vista staff members.

*Each teacher will have other rules and expectations posted for their individual classrooms.*

If a student should fail to follow these rules, the consequences will be as follows:

  1.  Warning
  2. Separate the student from the group/time out in classroom.
  3. Move student to another classroom.
  4. Send the student to the office with a disciplinary referral, Principal will make the decision for an appropriate intervention.
  5. Call parent.

Every morning after the Pledge of Allegiance, the entire school will recite our school pledge, the "Buena Vista I Care Pledge."

I will treat other people like I want to be treated today.
I am responsible for myself.
No one else is responsible for what I do today.
I will walk and talk quietly in the building.
I will keep my hands, feet and objects to myself.
I will use words that make other people feel good.
I will take care of the property of Buena Vista Enhanced Option School and the property of others.
I will follow directions and requests from all Buena Vista staff members.
